How We Help
At The Carl Edward Foundation, our purpose is simple: to make sure no one is denied the chance to live fully because of a funding gap.
We know that a ramp, a grab bar, or a few hours of caregiver relief can mean the difference between independence and isolation. Yet these critical needs are often left uncovered by insurance. That’s where we step in.

Grants That Bridge the Gap
We accept grant applications from Nov 1st through Dec 31st. Our grants support individuals and families living with spinal cord injuries and progressive neurological diseases.

These grants are designed to ease the financial burden of essential needs such as:
-
Mobility equipment not covered by insurance
-
Home modifications like ramps, roll-in showers, and grab bars
-
Fall prevention technology and adaptive devices
-
Caregiver training or short-term respite support
Our grants are not meant to replace every cost. Instead, they serve as a critical bridge—a meaningful step that restores dignity, improves safety, and makes life a little more possible.
Why This Matters
Falls are one of the most devastating and costly complications for individuals with neurological conditions.

-
The average hospital stay after a fall can exceed $30,000.
-
Most of these injuries are preventable with the right support in place.
-
Insurance rarely covers proactive modifications or equipment that would reduce risk.
By providing partial funding, we reduce barriers and help families take action before tragedy strikes.

Our next grant cycle opens Nov 1st
We accept grant applications annually from November 1st to December 31st.

In the meantime, your support ensures we’ll be ready to launch strong. Every donation made today helps us build the infrastructure to fund grants tomorrow.
